Tribal Bracelets!

Well I am sure most of you know Marina from http://www.etsy.com/shop/fancifuldevices
On Friday she posted a toot as she calls it for her tribal braclets, so I decided to purchase it and see if I could make something:)
I am just new at jewelry making but I am really drawn to it and I love the reclaimed jewelry with handmade components and vintage items mixed in.  Well acctually I just love jewelry!
This is Spirit my big boy!
So yesterday I spent 9 hours making bracelets yes 9 hrs straight.  My hands were black and sore and I ended up making 16 in all.  I have no fillers yet as I have to buy some from somewhere and I have to get some cloth for fillers also but this is what I ended up with
Deciding to come along and just sit on everything!
The couch was just full of stuff and the table too!

Steel wire and some of my beads!

Thanks Fanci for making the Toot!
Here is her link again if you are interested in purchasing it!

  1. Ingrid, your tribal bracetlets are beautiful! I can't believe you spent 9 hours on this project, even with sore fingers and all. I can't wait to see how they look after you've 'dressed' them.

I want to purchase this tutorial, and knowing myself I would want to try it right away. But there are several non-jewelry projects I MUST get done before the end of the month, so I'm refraining from getting it just yet.

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. HAHA! that's exactly what happens! they're so easy, it becomes addictive. Next thing you know, 9 hours have passed, you haven't peed or eaten but your stash is lighter and you have these pretties! I like how you put your own original spin on the ones with single beads. you know there's no law that says you *have* to have fillers. but there are some links in my comments section that ppl put to some super cheap sources. Also, i bet you a million dollars (*pinkie to mouth*) that you have some fabric somewhere you can tear and make into a bangle.
anywho, i feel like a proud moma.
