What's New!

Well I have been quite busy as I am doing a spring artisan show this weekend in Vernon at the Rec Center on Saturday and Sunday it is called Shoparama lets hope people shop lol!

So I have been packing pottery and jewelry for the show, and this will be a new experience  for me as I am not use to the jewelry set up and am learning how to make it look appealing to customers.
I am really lucky as my good friend Susan is lending me some of her displays and is going to help me with the jewelry setup. (I don't know what I would do without her)

So What is new and exciting! Well I went out at the beginning of the week and purchased a couple of cookie tins as I wanted to start practice making things out of them as I love using recycled materials and my plan was to try and make a ring or a cuff so I dug out my metal shears and cut away and of course the metal was to large for a ring so I kept cutting it down and hammering and filing over and over again and this is what I came up with.
There are a lot of hours hammering this little piece of metal.
It went from a cuff to a ring to this oval piece, so I decided to make a necklace with it and at first I didn't have the coral attached and was wearing it realizing it was to plain so the next night I added the 2 pieces of coral, I also scratched it up to make it look older .  It doesn't look like it would take long to make but since it was my first piece and being new at this there were many hours of love involved!
This process of using the recycled tin was inspired by Marina of http://www.etsy.com/shop/fancifuldevices
Her work of course is way different but she knows how to get your juices flowing!

Here is another picture

I was up last night until 3 am and made these little beauties!

And today I made this one!

Love and Peace♥

  1. So cute. I love the teddy bears. I have all the stuff I need to get started on doing this. I need a space set up to do it though. Note to self - set up space to do this.
